Finance Manager

The Opportunity

We’re working on behalf of a fast-growing, private equity–backed services business to recruit a Finance Manager for their Bedford-based head office. This is a newly enhanced role created as part of the business’s next phase of growth, offering exposure to senior leadership and genuine progression potential as the PE journey evolves.

The role blends hands-on management accounting with broader Financial Controller-level responsibilities, making it ideal for a commercially minded finance professional who enjoys being close to the detail while influencing the bigger picture.

Key Responsibilities

• Ownership of the monthly management accounts pack, including P&L, balance sheet and variance analysis
• Budgeting, forecasting and cashflow management
• Business partnering with operational and commercial stakeholders to support decision-making
• Overseeing transactional finance (AP/AR), ensuring strong controls and process efficiency
• Supporting year-end accounts and liaising with external auditors and advisors
• Improving financial reporting, systems and processes in a PE-backed environment
• Assisting with board reporting and ad-hoc analysis for senior leadership and investors

About You

• Qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA)
• Strong background in management accounting with exposure to FC-level duties
• Experience in SME or mid-sized businesses, ideally in a services-led environment
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, change-driven, PE-backed business
• Hands-on, proactive and confident working closely with senior stakeholders
