Job Purpose

Responsible for the day-to-day financial activities of QV Systems and supporting the delivery of the company’s core objective – creating value from B2B SaaS sales to the asset-backed lending industries. Working closely with the Senior Management Team, the Finance Manager will help maintain the financial health of the business through effective financial control, reporting and operational support. The role is responsible for ensuring robust processes, accurate reporting and the efficient management of finance operations to support business growth.

Responsibilities
  • Manage the relationship with the outsourced bookkeeping function
  • Prepare monthly management accounts and management information reports for the SMT
  • Manage supplier payments and oversee credit control activities.
  • Support the preparation and filing of statutory accounts with the outsourced finance provider.
  • Maintain and review accounting policies and ensure they are applied consistently.
  • Manage the preparation and review of VAT and corporation tax returns, including coordination of the annual R&D tax claim.
  • Administer the company commission and bonus schemes.
  • Oversee the monthly payroll process.
  • Prepare the annual budget and periodic forecasting activities.
  • Monitor cash flow and working capital requirements.
  • Identify and escalate financial issues and risks to senior management in a timely manner.
  • Drive continuous improvements in financial processes and systems.
Key Result Areas (Accountabilities)
  • Ensure all statutory and regulatory returns (VAT, tax, payroll and accounts) are completed accurately and submitted on time.
  • Improve the efficiency and effectiveness of finance processes, reducing manual intervention where appropriate.
  • Maintain strong financial controls and support cost management initiatives.
  • Deliver accurate and timely management information.
  • Support budgeting and forecasting activities to aid business planning.
  • Maintain effective cash flow management and working capital controls.
Jobholder Requirements
  • Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA).
  • Experience in a Finance Manager role within a growing SME or technology business.
  • Experience working with outsourced finance providers or small finance teams.
  • Proactive in identifying opportunities to improve the finance function through the use of systems, automation and reporting tools
  • Experience using accounting systems such as Xero would be advantageous.
  • Understanding of management accounts, VAT, payroll and statutory reporting requirements.
  • A hands-on approach with the willingness to support the wider business where required.
  • Ability to work independently and prioritise effectively in a dynamic environment.
