Financial Analyst

Bedford Borough Council is a fast‑growing unitary authority. As a key partner in the growth and development of our services, the Finance team is at the forefront of driving decisions and improving performance across various departments. We are looking for a fully AAT‑qualified, enthusiastic Financial Analyst to join our Environment Finance team.

• Support budget holders in Housing, Parks and Open Spaces, Events, and Waste Services.
• Assist in forecasting, setting budgets, and resolving financial queries.
• Use the Agresso finance system to track and report financial data.
• Collaborate across departments to improve performance and financial outcomes.
• Communicate financial information clearly and effectively to non‑financial managers.

• Full AAT membership.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work with a broad range of services.
• Analytical and interpretive skills for complex financial information.
• Proactive problem‑solving abilities.
• Local Government and Agresso experience are desirable but not essential.

• 27 days annual leave, increasing to 32 days after 5 years of continuous service, plus public holidays.
