Job Overview

We are looking for a Police Community Support Officer (PCSO) to work across Central Bedfordshire, covering locations such as Sandy, Biggleswade, Woburn, Aspley Guise, Dunstable and Leighton Buzzard. The role involves building relationships, providing vital support to vulnerable people, working with both young and old, and embedding neighbourhood policing.

Responsibilities
  • Give vital support to vulnerable people and victims of crime within communities.
  • Build trust and relationships between the public and the police.
  • Work alongside regular officers in a dedicated community policing team.
  • Assist in embedding neighbourhood policing across the county.
  • Participate in shift work and support operational duties as required.
Qualifications & Requirements
  • Full UK manual driving licence.
  • Eligibility for a Police Community Support Officer role under the Competency and Value Framework Level 1.
  • Required health assessment and vulnerability DNA/fingerprint elimination sample (high‑risk role).
  • Willingness to attend training and complete a two‑year PCSO tenure before applying for a Police Officer route (equivalent to Level
    3).
  • Commitment to the police values and the ability to undertake vetting, medical and reference checks.
