Location: Kempston

Our client is looking to recruit a Supply Chain Administrator for a 2 month temp position, could go on longer.
Role Purpose
To assist the company in achieving its business objectives and revenue targets by supporting the supply chain activity within the business from order receipt to order dispatch including the purchasing of materials maintaining optimum inventory levels and delivering a high level and professional level of customer service.

Key Responsibilities
 
* Take responsibility for aspects of inventory control including purchasing of specified items including consumables from material planning phase to final issue, to ensure “On Time”, “On Quality” and “On Cost delivery” is achieved.
 
* Ensure accurate records are maintained in all areas relating to supply chain activities.
 
* Daily interface to both internal & external customers and suppliers.
 
* Manage all material allocations from material requisitions ensuring stock accuracy throughout.
 
* Enter, process and confirm sales and service orders for customers.
 
* Respond to emails and answer telephone calls to customers for example and not limited to stock availability, pricing, quotes, pro-forma invoicing, complaints, customs numbers, weights, dimensions and sending duplicate invoices.
 
* Run invoices for both UK & Export shipments and when required provide export shipping documentation and support to the stores to allow dispatch.
 
* Support cost improvements by actively perusing total cost reduction opportunities.
 
* Review inventory to determine unused items or surplus materials.
 
* Make recommendations and support improvements to supply chain processes and procedures.
 
* Ensure that all activities are undertaken and controlled in accordance with the Quality Management System (QMS).
 
* Maintain Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s) to measure performance and demonstrate continuous improvement.
 
* Take responsibility for the stock-takes both annual and perpetual as required.
Work Experience
Essential
 
* Intermediate experience of MS Office including Excel and Word.
 
* Excellent communication skills.
 
* Proven experience of attention to detail, accurate and able to work on own initiative.
 
* Previous experience working in a stores environment as a material controller or stores supervisor.
 
* Experience of MRP systems.
 
* Customer Service Experience
 
* Export Shipping Experience
 
* Experience of dealing directly with customers by telephone and email.
 
* Awareness of health and safety in respect of COSHH and manual handling
