Facilities Support Officer

Job Summary

Bedfordshire Police are looking to recruit 2 Facilities Support Officers to join a small team to assist with the maintenance and operation of Bedfordshire Police properties.

• Perform day‑to‑day maintenance of facilities including car park repairs, lights, locks, doors, toilets, changing rooms, kitchen, grounds, courier and dispatch.
• Assist with building maintenance and services.
• Lift heavy goods and climb ladders as required.
• Operate plant and machinery safely.
• Use e‑mail and complete forms accurately.

• Previous experience in building maintenance and/or building services.
• Ability to lift heavy goods and climb ladders.
• Ability to operate plant and machinery.
• Good keyboard skills with the ability to use e‑mail and complete forms accurately.
• Valid UK driving licence.

Based at Police HQ in Kempston or Luton Police station. Requires travel to alternative locations within the force and access to a vehicle. Includes on‑call duties for out‑of‑hours on a rota basis one week in four, with additional pay.
