Salary: £25,775.88

Contract:

Full time / Permanent 39 hours per week

We are seeking a dedicated Cleaning Operative to join our team at HMP Bedford, a Category B & Adults/Male prison. The Facilities Maintenance Team is committed to running the prison efficiently and safely, providing a secure environment for prisoners, staff and visitors.

Key responsibilities include:

• Carry out cleaning duties across the facility in accordance with health and safety procedures.
• Work with a range of colleagues (plumbers, electricians, carpenters, painters, administrators) to maintain a clean and safe environment.
• Support operational tasks to help prisoners reintegrate into society.

Qualifications and experience required:

• Experience of working in a cleaning environment.
• Good knowledge of COSHH and relevant health and safety requirements.
• Excellent organisational, time‑management and people skills.
