Are you a hands‑on engineer looking to get into the rolling stock sector or build on your existing rail experience? This is a great opportunity to join a busy depot environment with strong earning potential, solid training and long‑term progression. We’re looking for multiple Maintenance Technicians to support the delivery of safe, reliable trains – whether you’re already in rail or coming from a related industry like heavy vehicles, plant, buses, armed forces or maritime.
The Role and About YouKey responsibilities
- Carrying out planned maintenance and reactive fault finding on rolling stock.
- Supporting fault diagnosis and repairs across mechanical and electrical systems.
- Ensuring all work is completed safely and in line with required standards.
- Working closely with team members to meet fleet availability and performance targets.
- Recording work carried out and updating maintenance systems.
- Supporting continuous improvement and reliability initiatives.
- Maintaining high standards of housekeeping and safety across the depot.
- Level 3 qualification in an engineering discipline (essential).
- Background in a relevant industry – rolling stock, HGV, buses, heavy plant, automotive, armed forces, maritime or similar.
- Experience in maintenance, fault finding and repair.
- Mechanical or electrical bias – both considered.
- Good approach to health & safety in a live environment.
- Able to work shifts including nights and weekends.
- Team player with a strong work ethic and willingness to learn.
