Transport Team Manager

We are currently searching for a Team Manager to join the Transport team in our Distribution Centre in Bedford.

The Shift Pattern(s) available are: 4 on 4 off - 06:00am - 18:00

This is a hands‑on leadership role, where you will take responsibility for a team of HGV Drivers and Planners, leading them to deliver a fast, accurate and efficient service in our transport network. You will be reporting directly to the Transport Shift Manager.

This role is offered on a full time, permanent basis. You will be given full, inhouse training on our internal systems, but you must have previous experience working in a logistics environment.

• Leading, motivating and supporting your team to deliver high service levels
• Managing your section in terms of KPI’s
• Maintaining high standards across the Transport Network, including all aspects of Health and Safety
• Conducting development reviews and providing advice to colleagues where appropriate
• Planning and managing staff training, conducting interviews and investigations where required.

• Previous experience of working in a transport or logistics environment
• Proven ability to build positive, professional relationships with colleagues
• A drive to achieve and exceed KPI’s
• Excellent communication, organisation and planning skills
• A “Can do” attitude, no task is too big, or too small
