Electro-Mechanical Technician

The Role

Fords has a new position for a multi-skilled Electro-Mechanical Technician, with both mechanical/electrical skills, to join our growing Production Team.

• Carry out set up, testing and commissioning of machines for pre-delivery factory acceptance tests (FAT)
• Mechanical fitting of bespoke machinery
• Ability to assemble from Technical/Engineering drawings
• Understanding of Pneumatics and automation systems
• Installation of Motors, Gearboxes, Belts, Bearings, complex assemblies etc
• Use of various hand and power tools
• Use of machine tools
• Understanding and application of Health and Safety regulations
• Use of IT systems and word processing
• Support the development and implementation of standard operating procedures (SOPs), ensuring best practice and consistency across the team.
• Support validation activities, aligning production with compliance and quality requirements.
• Assist in fault finding and diagnosis of mechanical, pneumatic, and basic electrical issues during build and test phases, ensuring rapid resolution and minimal delays.
• Assist with training and mentoring Mechanical Fitters in fitting techniques, safety practices, and build quality expectations.

• 3-5 years Mechanical Fitting experience, post qualification
• Mechanical fitting experience with bespoke machinery
• Experience setting up, testing and commissioning machines for pre-delivery

• Machining skills; such as turning and milling
• Competent IT skills

• PLC and Automation experience
• Forklift Driving Experience
• Working at Height
• Supervisory or training experience
