The Role
Fords has a new position for a multi-skilled Electro-Mechanical Technician, with both mechanical/electrical skills, to join our growing Production Team.
Key Duties And Skills- Carry out set up, testing and commissioning of machines for pre-delivery factory acceptance tests (FAT)
- Mechanical fitting of bespoke machinery
- Ability to assemble from Technical/Engineering drawings
- Understanding of Pneumatics and automation systems
- Installation of Motors, Gearboxes, Belts, Bearings, complex assemblies etc
- Use of various hand and power tools
- Use of machine tools
- Understanding and application of Health and Safety regulations
- Use of IT systems and word processing
- Support the development and implementation of standard operating procedures (SOPs), ensuring best practice and consistency across the team.
- Support validation activities, aligning production with compliance and quality requirements.
- Assist in fault finding and diagnosis of mechanical, pneumatic, and basic electrical issues during build and test phases, ensuring rapid resolution and minimal delays.
- Assist with training and mentoring Mechanical Fitters in fitting techniques, safety practices, and build quality expectations.
- 3-5 years Mechanical Fitting experience, post qualification
- Mechanical fitting experience with bespoke machinery
- Experience setting up, testing and commissioning machines for pre-delivery
- Machining skills; such as turning and milling
- Competent IT skills
- PLC and Automation experience
- Forklift Driving Experience
- Working at Height
- Supervisory or training experience
- Must have attention to Detail
- Strong Communication skills
- Able to work under own initiative but also a team player
