Welding Technician

Job Summary

Welding Technician required to join a well‑established engineering company in Bedford. This role is a high‑end production welding position, performing repetitive work while maintaining high quality standards. The technician will fabricate assemblies to a high standard ready for painting.

• High‑end production welding using TIG & MIG equipment.
• Follow drawings to produce weld assemblies to a high standard.
• Prepare products for painting, ensuring metal components are clean and scratch‑free.
• Maintain stock of welding supplies.
• Maintain a clean and safe working environment.

• Experience using a variety of welding equipment and procedures (TIG, MIG, etc.) in mild steel, aluminium and stainless steel.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings.
• Identify product defects and complete appropriate documentation when defects are identified.
• Perform all work in accordance with quality standards and established safety procedures.
• Proficient in the use of hand tools, including angle grinders, squares, calipers, etc.

• Salary: £36,000 – £40,000 (DOE)
• Hours:
  
  15:00 – 01:00, Monday‑Thursday (Evening shift)
• 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays.
• Pension scheme: 8% after 3‑month probation.
• Overtime available at a competitive rate.
