About the Role
We are looking for an experienced Forklift Driver to join the Warehouse and Logistics team at a major beverage manufacturing site in Bedford.
This is a hands-on role within a busy manufacturing environment where you'll play an important part in keeping production running efficiently. You'll be responsible for the safe movement of raw materials, packaging and finished products across the site, as well as supporting loading, unloading and warehouse operations.
We're looking for someone who takes safety seriously, enjoys working as part of a team and is comfortable operating in a fast-paced production environment.
What You'll Be Doing
Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:
* Operating forklift and clamp trucks safely and efficiently.
* Completing all required FLT and Health & Safety checks.
* Loading and unloading inbound and outbound vehicles.
* Moving finished products and empty packaging around the site.
* Supporting the movement of materials between warehouse, packaging and production areas.
* Booking stock movements accurately using SAP handheld devices.
* Ensuring products and materials are stored and handled correctly.
* Carrying out general material handling and warehouse duties.
* Maintaining excellent standards of housekeeping and hygiene.
* Looking after equipment and reporting faults or operational issues promptly.
* Following site procedures relating to Health & Safety, Food Safety and HACCP.
What We're Looking For
You'll need to have:
A valid Counterbalance FLT licence.
Previous experience operating forklift trucks within a warehouse, manufacturing or production environment.
Experience loading and unloading trailers.
A strong understanding of safe working practices.
Good organisational and time-management skills.
The ability to remain calm and work effectively in a busy environment.
A reliable, flexible and proactive approach to work.
Good communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team.
Experience with in food manufacturing, beverage production, brewing or FMCG would be advantageous, but isn't essential.
Experience operating clamp/"top hat", double-fork or other forklift attachments would also be beneficial.
Previous experience using SAP or warehouse management systems would be useful, although training can be provided.
Shift Pattern
This is a 39-hour-per-week role working across a three-shift rotation:
* 6:00am – 2:00pm
* 2:00pm – 10:00pm
* 10:00pm – 6:00am
Flexibility to work different shift patterns and weekends when required is important.
Salary
£34,048.02 per annum
