About the Role
Siamo Recruitment Bedford are currently recruiting for Quality & Continuous Improvement Technicians to join a growing manufacturing environment in Bedford on a temporary basis.
This is a hands-on role supporting manufacturing operations by ensuring product quality, process compliance and continuous improvement. You will work closely with Production, Engineering, Supply Chain and Quality teams to identify issues, investigate root causes and implement practical solutions.
Key Responsibilities
Carry out incoming, in-process and final inspections.
Verify products against engineering drawings, specifications and customer requirements.
Record inspection and test results accurately.
Manage non-conforming materials and products, including segregation and containment.
Investigate manufacturing defects, complaints and non-conformances.
Support root cause investigations using 8D, 5 Why, Fishbone and Pareto Analysis .
Implement and monitor corrective and preventive actions.
Support audits, process reviews and quality improvement activities.
Assist with Control Plans, SOPs, Build Instructions and Inspection & Test Plans.
Support PFMEA reviews and ISO 9001 Quality Management System improvements.
Identify opportunities to reduce defects, scrap, rework and waste.
Promote quality awareness and support operator training.
Work with production teams to improve Right First Time performance.
About You
Previous experience working within a manufacturing quality environment .
Experience investigating quality issues and implementing corrective actions.
Experience working closely with production teams.
Knowledge of Root Cause Analysis, 8D, 5 Why and Fishbone Analysis .
The ability to interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications.
Familiarity with ISO 9001 .
Strong attention to detail and excellent problem-solving skills.
Good communication skills and the ability to work across different departments.
Experience using inspection and measurement equipment.
Experience with in low-volume, high-mix manufacturing would be advantageous, as would exposure to electro-mechanical products, cooling systems, HVAC, refrigeration, pipework, welding, brazing, pressure or leak testing.
