Quality Auditor

Bedford | 4 on 4 off | Days | 6:00am 6:00pm Are you an experienced Quality Auditor with a background in food manufacturing? We are recruiting for a Quality Auditor to join a busy food manufacturing environment in Bedford , working an attractive 4 on 4 off day shift pattern, 6:00am to 6:00pm .

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys a hands on quality role, is confident working with production teams and has a strong understanding of food safety and quality standards.

The Role As a Quality Auditor, you will play an important role in ensuring products are manufactured safely, legally and to the required customer standards. Working closely with production, hygiene and management teams, you will monitor quality standards, identify non-conformances and ensure issues are addressed promptly.

Key Responsibilities Carry out online quality and food safety verification checks against internal and customer specifications. Verify that production processes comply with critical control points (CCPs) and food safety requirements. Conduct internal audits, including GMP and other site quality audits. Monitor and verify HACCP and CCP controls. Complete product, water and swab sampling in line with testing schedules. Carry out product checks, including organoleptic assessments and daily taste panels.

Investigate non-conforming, held and potentially contaminated products. Maintain hold and concession records and ensure appropriate communication across departments. Complete metal detection and metal rejection investigations. Carry out traceability exercises within required timescales. Verify production paperwork, labels and other quality documentation. Complete equipment calibration and verification checks. Work closely with the Hygiene Team to ensure cleaning is completed to food-safe standards.

Complete microbiological and nutritional testing in accordance with relevant schedules. Conduct checks covering allergens, cleanliness, spoilage and temperature. Support positive release of products produced during the shift. Record and investigate non-conformances and communicate findings to relevant teams. Report any quality, food safety or Health & Safety concerns to the appropriate management team. About You We are looking for someone with:
Previous experience in a Quality Auditor, Quality Technician or similar role within food manufacturing . Level 2 or Level 3 HACCP qualification/certification . Internal Auditing qualification/certification . A food-related qualification. Knowledge of BRC, ISO, Organic and major retailer standards would be desirable. Excellent attention to detail. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Good PC skills, including Microsoft Office.
