Governance Officer

£30,000 - Permanent, Full Time

Bedford, UK

We are currently looking for a Governance Officer to provide support to the Governance Manager in promoting good governance across the organisation. The ideal candidate will be someone who is looking to continue or pursue a career in Governance and committed to continuing their development in this area.

What You Will Be Doing
  • Providing support to ensure that an appropriate governance framework is in place across all parts of the group including appropriate constitutional arrangements, Codes of Governance, standing orders, schemes of delegation and terms of reference.
  • Support the Governance Manager in identifying any gaps in compliance with the RSH regulatory standards and the organisation’s chosen code of governance.
  • Providing support to Board and Committees of the Group through the production of minutes and action logs, agenda planning, circulating of papers and the maintenance of annual cycles.
  • Assisting with filing of regulatory returns, annual declarations of interest and maintaining the compliance matrix.
  • Assisting with ensuring FCA consumer credit obligations are met.
  • Assists with ensuring that fraud, probity and other relevant policies are reviewed and updated.
  • Behaviours reflect ethical culture across the Group.
We’d Love To Meet Someone With
  • Ideally Degree level education, and with the commitment to further professional development.
  • Experience of working in a governance or similar role.
  • Understanding of the principles of good governance.
  • Professional, well organised and able to work to deadlines when required.
  • Excellent attention to detail, and to seek answers to problems.
