About the Role

As a Partner on our service counters, you will demonstrate your knowledge and passion for food while proudly promoting our ethically sourced products and recommending recipes for customers to try. You’ll bring our ethos—passionate Partners serving food lovers—to life.

You will use your enthusiasm and friendliness to build lasting relationships with customers, earning their trust and loyalty and helping maximise sales and profit. In addition to contractual pay, time worked between 22:00 and 06:00 will earn a Night Premium of £3.75 per hour, also applying for existing Partners on Enhanced Hours Premium arrangements.

Due to working time regulations, applicants must be 18 years or over to apply.

• Take responsibility for your own food counter ensuring the highest presentation and hygiene standards at all times.
• Stay on top of stock levels, ensuring the products customers love are available when needed.
• Work carefully with open food, ensuring all due diligence and health & safety protocols are followed, and help reduce food wastage.
• Maintain knowledge of new products and a good understanding of Waitrose's food values, such as animal welfare.
• Support the wider shop team when required with general shopkeeping tasks.

• Communication skills to enable you to work effectively as part of a team and with customers.

• Experience of working in a customer‑facing role.
• Experience of working in a catering/hospitality environment.
• Up-to‑date knowledge and strong interest in food and drink trends.
• Flexible approach to support the whole branch.

£13.00 (£13.25 after 90 days)

Part‑time work (22.5 hours) across a 2‑week rota, including working Sunday, Monday, Saturday one week, and Sunday, Monday, Tuesday the second week between 04:00–12:00.
