📋 About the Role

We're currently recruiting for a Housing Support Officer to join a well-established Housing Service in Bedford. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone passionate about helping others and supporting residents to sustain their tenancies and live independently.

In this role, you'll work directly with tenants across supported accommodation settings, providing tailored advice, support, and guidance to help improve their housing situation and overall well-being.

💡 Key Responsibilities

Manage a caseload of residents in supported accommodation.

Support tenants in maintaining their tenancies, understanding housing responsibilities, and accessing relevant welfare benefits.

Liaise with local authorities, housing providers, and external support agencies to ensure residents receive holistic support.

Conduct welfare visits and property checks as required.

Maintain accurate case notes, reports, and documentation in line with organisational procedures.

Act as a point of contact for residents needing practical or emotional support related to housing and well-being.

👤 About You

We're looking for someone with strong interpersonal and organisational skills, ideally with experience in housing, homelessness prevention, or tenancy sustainment.

You'll need to have:

Previous experience supporting vulnerable individuals or tenants (within housing or support services).

A proactive and empathetic approach to resolving issues.

Excellent communication and record-keeping skills.

The ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

A valid UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle (essential).
