Software Engineering Lead

Salary: £85, per year

• Previous experience leading software delivery within a small engineering team as a Technical Lead, Staff Engineer, Senior Engineer, or similar.
• Strong hands‑on software engineering background with the ability to contribute throughout the development lifecycle.
• Experience delivering production software and managing project planning, estimation, and technical risk.
• Background working within a startup, scale‑up, or other fast‑paced engineering environment.
• Strong full‑stack development experience, ideally including Type Script, Node.js, React, and modern web application architecture.
• Experience with Python and/or C++.
• Experience working with robotics, industrial automation, manufacturing software, embedded systems, or other software interacting with physical hardware is highly desirable.

• Lead the planning and delivery of software projects, ensuring milestones, priorities, and risks are clearly managed.
• Manage, mentor, and support a small team of software engineers while fostering technical excellence.
• Remain hands‑on with development, contributing high‑quality code and conducting thorough code reviews.
• Work closely with senior stakeholders to provide accurate delivery forecasts and technical guidance.
• Drive technical decision‑making and ensure engineering efforts align with a cohesive product vision.
• Support recruitment, team growth, and resource planning as the engineering function expands.
• Help build software capable of supporting increasingly complex, large‑scale deployments.
