Shifts:
Operative roles involve a changing shift pattern including days, nights, and weekends. Outdoor working in all weathers and traffic exposure are common. Offers are subject to drug and alcohol testing and relevant pre-employment checks.
Driving: A Category B driving licence is needed to drive Network Rail vehicles. Commute times: you should be within a 60-minute commute of the location you’re applying for.
Role and Responsibilities- Support the daily upkeep of the rail network by performing a range of maintenance activities outdoors in small teams.
- Work across disciplines to maintain, inspect, and repair rail infrastructure, ensuring safety and efficiency for passengers and freight users.
- Be adaptable to a variety of disciplines (Signalling & Telecoms; Track; Offtrack; Under track; Distribution & Plant; Overhead Lines) and develop technical skills through training.
- Provide lookout duties, check equipment, and assist the team with site-to-site movement.
- Follow safety rules, work as part of a team, and remain proactive in planning and coordination under pressure.

- Salary: £30,351 or £35,785 depending on discipline
