English Teacher

The role

We are working with a well-established secondary school with a strong academic focus to recruit an English Teacher for supply and long-term opportunities. The school places a strong emphasis on literacy, high expectations, and student achievement across KS3–KS5.

This role would suit a confident practitioner able to deliver engaging English Language and Literature lessons while maintaining strong classroom routines.

Northumberland | Large 11–18 secondary with sixth form

£163 – £265.92 per day | PAYE | Depending on experience

• 11–18 secondary school with sixth form provision
• Clear behaviour systems and structured classroom expectations

• Teach English across KS3 and KS4 (KS5 available depending on experience)
• Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons
• Maintain high standards of behaviour and academic progress
• Contribute to departmental planning and assessment

• QTS or equivalent UK teaching qualification
• Strong subject knowledge in English Language and/or Literature
• Confident classroom management skills
• Flexible and professional approach to supply or long-term roles

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
