Project Engineering Manager (Design Center) - Bedok
The project engineering manager at the design center is responsible for leading, managing, and designing AI Data Center and/or medical products. Working with worldwide manufacturing plants, supplier management teams and customers to develop and manufacture new products effectively to the market.
ResponsibilitiesLead and manage the design teams and cross‑functional groups to define product and system architecture, implement solutions, plan and execute prototype builds, perform validation and qualification, and to transition products to manufacturing efficiently while fulfilling the project boundary conditions including the product requirements, project schedule, quality and reliability goals, validation and certifications, project budget and product costs.
Drive and coordinate response to RFQ, conduct feasibility study with design and manufacturing teams to identify risks, propose product architectures, recommend designs and solutions. Candidates must be technically strong to understand the requirements and engage design engineers to determine the most suitable solutions and the trade off.
Prepare project proposal and quotation with supports from design and manufacturing teams, liaise with customers on RFQ and legal matters. Deliverables include resource and skill planning, budget estimate, timeline, risk analysis, regulatory compliance and other development costs.
Manage and execute project from concept stage to production ramp, create and track project schedule, report weekly progress and host regular project meeting. Engage customers and communicate effectively with all worldwide stakeholders.
Drive and close issues in an efficient and timely manner to satisfy project and customer requirements, and to meet P&L. Ability to understand technical issues and drive bug closure with design engineers.
Lead prototype build activities. Manage and mitigate project risks. Understand the NPI and production processes, test requirements, material purchase, risk buys. Track performance of new products during prototype phase. Ability to think out of the box to identify quick turn‑around and alternate solutions.
Participate in project and business reviews with customers on a regular basis.
RequirementsMaster or degree in EE or ME engineering or equivalent.
At least 10 years direct experience in technical project management and at least 5 years of management experience. Must have managed or gone through at least 2 full project cycles from concept stage to production with strong background technical background. Experience with working with design resources from other countries and worldwide functional groups.
Candidates should have experience in complex system designs that span across hardware, power, mechanical, tooling, software, integration and compliance in Data Center products or FDA medical products.
