We are inviting you to join our rapidly growing nursing program, which is expanding in student population, infrastructure, and faculty. We are seeking a full-time (12) month Instructor of Nursing to teach in our Practical Nursing and Registered Nursing Programs, supervise clinical practice, mentor adjunct instructors, and contribute to related health courses and evening/weekend activities.

We are currently seeking to fill two (2) positions. The Instructor of Nursing is a full-time twelve (12) month nursing education faculty member for the Nursing program on the ASU-Searcy campus. The selected faculty member will teach all phases of the Practical Nursing and Registered Nursing Programs: supervise clinical practice; supervise extra help clinical instructors as needed; teach other health-related classes;

and assist with evening and weekend classes and activities as required. The candidate should strive for continual improvement of student success by planning an optimal learning environment, providing high-quality instruction and advising, participating in the development of learning outcomes and assessment of students as well as self and applied teaching techniques, and engaging in ongoing professional development.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Prepare and read over assigned lesson plans
  • Present lesson plans to students
  • Administer and grade tests and student assignments
  • Advise students
  • Supervise students in all aspects of clinical education
  • Work closely with supervisor regarding nursing education teaching materials
  • Order needed supplies to teach required material
  • Work with supervisor regarding materials being presented and problems encountered
  • Clinical supervision of client care by students
  • Make clinical assignments for students based upon knowledge level and abilities
  • Calculate student grades
  • Collaboration with faculty and administration on curriculum development, revision, and updates
  • Attend nursing faculty and department meetings, division meetings, and advisory meetings
  • Travel to other ASU-Beebe campuses and clinical sites for teaching and meetings
  • Assist students with all invasive procedures performed on clients at clinical sites
  • Perform any other related duties as required or assigned.

    Qualifications

    Required Qualifications: Registered Nurse with an unencumbered license in Arkansas;
    Associate’s Degree in Nursing; and willingness to work flexible hours including weekends.

    Salary and Schedule

    Minimum Salary or Salary Range: $51,233 + $8,000 year 1 stipend
