Overview

JOB TITLE: 3rd Grade Teacher

LOCATION: South Grove Elementary

REPORTS TO: Building Principal

EMPLOYMENT AND FLSA STATUS: Certified/Exempt/Salary

    To work collaboratively with colleagues, students, and families in order to promote the educational, social, emotional, and physical development and achievement of students.

    Performance Responsibilities
  • Classroom teacher responsibilities differentiated for high ability and at-risk learners including, but not limited to: lesson planning, curriculum development, instruction, maintaining grades, developing relationships with students, and communicating with parents.
  • Implement PBIS, Calm Classroom techniques and Community Circles with fidelity.
  • Collect and analyze individual and program-wide student data.
  • Collaborate with colleagues through weekly professional development activities in assessing, selecting, and implementing effective research-based student strategies.
  • Other duties related to meeting the needs of students, as assigned.
  • Physical Requirements

    1. Seldom = Less than 25 %

    2. Occasional = 26 to 50 %

    3. Often = 51 to 75 %

    4. Very Frequent = 76 % and above

    • Ability to stand for extended periods of time. (4)
    • Ability to lift 25 lbs. (1)
    • Ability to carry 25 lbs.(2)
    • Ability to work at a desk, conference table or in meetings of various configurations. (4)
    • Ability to see for the purpose of reading laws and codes, rules and policies and other printed matter. (4)
    • Ability to hear and understand speech at normal levels. (4)
    • Ability to communicate so others will be able to clearly understand a normal conversation. (4)
    • Ability to operate office equipment. (4)
    • Ability to reach in all directions. (4)
