Overview

Correctional Dentist - Mcconnell Unit at The University of Texas Medical Branch (UTMB Health).

• Performs responsible general direct dental care services for the offender population of a correctional facility, in conformance with University procedures and Health Services policies. Works under supervision of the Cluster Dental Director with latitude for the exercise of independent judgement. May be required to provide dental services on multiple facilities.
• Contributes to the success of the UTMB Correctional Managed Care operation.
• Adheres to internal controls and reporting structure established for department.
• Performs related duties as required.

Standard patient care supplies, equipment and mechanical devices.

Located within the confines of a prison, jail or juvenile detention center. Security clearance is required; pre-employment drug testing is also required.

• Licensed to practice dentistry in the state of Texas.
• Current registration of license to practice dentistry in the state of Texas.
• Current Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) controlled substance registration certificate.
• Current BLS-HP.

• Two (2) years minimum general clinical practice preferred.

Salary is commensurate with years of relevant work experience.
