Windham School District provides educational programs to meet the needs of the residents within the Texas Department of Criminal Justice. We currently operate on 9 campuses within Region 12 ESC and have 97 campuses total throughout Texas. We are recognized as one of the largest correctional education systems in the nation offering a variety of life skills, literacy, vocational, and post‑secondary classes, including CTE.

Position is responsible for the following campuses:
Ft. Stockton, Sanchez, Lynaugh, Smith. Office location is contingent upon further discussion.
Primary Purpose
:
Perform complex computer system support work which involves installing, configuring and supporting an organization’s local area network (LAN) and network computer systems. Maintain network hardware and software.
- Associate’s degree in computer science, management information systems, or related field.
- Two years full‑time wage‑earning network support experience.
- Each year of experience beyond the required two years may be substituted for thirty semester hours from an accredited college or university on a year‑for‑year basis.
- Technical or trade school courses in computer science or management information systems may be substituted for semester hours from an accredited college or university on a year‑for‑year basis.
- Personal technology that will enable the completion of job duties and responsibilities when working remotely.
- Ability to work with computers, operating systems, networks and install application software.
- Knowledge of Windows, Linux/Unix, and Operating Systems is preferred.
- Knowledge of network communication and protocols.
- Skilled in the installation of network and computer (desktop/server) hardware.
- Ability to distinguish between hardware and software problems in computer and network systems.
- Skill in effective communication and the ability to assist employees in the use of computer equipment and software.
- Ability to work under minimal supervision.

- Environmental Demands: Work inside and outside, noise, radiant/electrical energy, work alone, work with others, around machines with moving parts and objects, possible exposure to microwaves in use, exposure to hot and cold temperatures, exposure to dust and cleaning chemicals.
