Sanitarian

Responsibilities

• Sanitarians investigate health and safety in business environments, work to enforce safety and health regulations, and identify risk factors.
• Observe the behavior of employees at the facility to ensure they are working to prevent the spread of disease.
• Educate the public and individuals about methods to reduce contamination.
• Develop protocols to maintain public and industrial hygiene standards.
• Enforce existing health regulations in community practice.
• Monitor waste disposal and handling in environments such as hospitals, businesses and the public sector.
• Bachelor degree from Environmental Health.
• Environmental Health, Public Health, Biology, or any related major.
• Preferably have 5 years of experience in various fields of environmental health, hygiene or industrial safety.
• In-depth understanding of sanitation practices, infection control, and health and safety regulations.
• Familiarity with healthcare management software and electronic health records (EHR) systems is beneficial. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel and Word) for reporting and documentation.
• Ability to adapt to changing regulations and handle unexpected sanitation challenges.
