The Productivity Buyer is responsible for achieving annual productivity targets for a specific site or product line. You will manage the commercial relationship with suppliers and lead technical productivity projects (often referred to as VAVE - Value Analysis/Value Engineering) to improve the P&L of the plant.
Key Responsibilities :Cost Reduction (Productivity):Identify and implement technical and commercial productivity levers. This includes negotiating price decreases with suppliers and working with R&D to validate technical changes that reduce costs.
Supplier Management:Monitor supplier performance (Quality, Cost, Delivery) and lead regular performance reviews. You will be the main point of contact for suppliers regarding serial production issues.
Budget & Reporting:Build the annual purchasing budget for your perimeter and provide regular reporting on productivity progress (actual vs. target) using Valeo’s internal tools (like PuMa).
Cross-Functional Collaboration:Work closely with the Quality department (to ensure supplier compliance), Supply Chain (to optimize logistics costs), and R&D (for technical productivity ideas).
Resourcing &
Risk Management:
Manage supplier risks and, when necessary, lead resourcing projects to move business to more competitive or reliable suppliers.
Skills:
Experience:Previous experience in industrial purchasing, preferably within the automotive sector.
Negotiation:Strong negotiation skills and the ability to influence internal and external stakeholders.
Analytical
Skills:
Ability to analyze complex cost breakdowns and market trends.
Languages:Proficiency in English is mandatory, as Valeo operates in a global environment.
