Fresh Merchandising Manager

Develop and execute merchandising strategies for Fresh categories (Dairy, Frozen, Seafood, Poultry, Meat) to achieve sales, margin, availability, and profitability targets.

Manage product assortment, category mix, pricing, promotion, and commercial strategy.

Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and negotiate pricing, trading terms, promotions, rebates, and other commercial agreements.

Monitor market trends, customer preferences, competitor activities, and product performance.

Analyze sales, margin, stock level, inventory turnover, shrinkage, waste, and product availability.

Work closely with Store Operations, Supply Chain, Finance, Marketing, and Quality Assurance teams.

Develop promotional programs and seasonal campaigns to drive sales and profitability.

Manage product lifecycle, including new product listing, delisting, assortment review, and SKU rationalization.

Monitor supplier performance, product availability, lead time, and service level.

Lead and develop the Fresh Merchandising team.

Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in Business, Management, Marketing, Supply Chain, Food Technology, or related fields.

Minimum 5–8 years of experience in Merchandising, Buying, Category Management, or Commercial roles.

Strong experience in Fresh categories, preferably Poultry, Meat, Seafood, Dairy, and/or Frozen.

Experience in supermarket, hypermarket, grocery retail, or FMCG is highly preferred.

Strong understanding of retail merchandising, category management, pricing, promotion, margin, and inventory management.

Experienced in supplier negotiation and commercial/trading term management.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Strong negotiation, communication, stakeholder management, and leadership skills.

Proficient in Microsoft Excel and comfortable working with sales and commercial data.

Able to work in a fast-paced retail environment and manage multiple categories and priorities.

Willing to travel to stores and supplier locations when required.
