Position Summary

We are seeking a detail‑oriented Quality Inspector with strong experience in aerospace sheet‑metal components. This role is responsible for inspecting formed, machined, trimmed, riveted, and assembled sheet‑metal parts to ensure compliance with engineering drawings, tolerances, specifications, and customer requirements. The ideal candidate has a hands‑on mindset, strong blueprint reading skills, and experience inspecting tight‑tolerance aerospace parts.

Key Responsibilities
  • Inspect sheet‑metal parts and assemblies throughout all stages of manufacturing — including raw material verification, forming, bending, machining, drilling, trimming, and final assembly.
  • Verify compliance with engineering drawings, GD&T, tolerances, and workmanship standards.
  • Use precision measurement tools such as calipers, micrometers, height gauges, pin gauges, radius gauges, and hardness testers.
  • Conduct receiving, in‑process, and final inspections; document findings in accordance with internal and industry standards.
  • Identify non‑conforming material and document NCRs accurately and thoroughly.
  • Support first‑article inspections (FAI) and prepare documentation when required.
  • Communicate inspection results clearly to production, engineering, and quality leadership.
  • Ensure all inspection tools are in proper working order and calibrated.
  • Assist in root‑cause analysis and corrective action activities when quality issues arise.
  • Follow all AS9100/ISO 9001 procedures, safety requirements, and internal quality standards.
Required Qualifications
  • Experience inspecting aerospace sheet‑metal components or similar precision metal‑fabricated parts.
  • Strong understanding of sheet‑metal fabrication processes forming, bending, shearing, drilling, riveting, deburring, trimming, and assembly.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, GD&T symbols, and specifications.
  • Proficiency with precision measurement tools and manual inspection methods.
  • Strong attention to detail, observational skills, and commitment to quality.
  • Ability to document inspection results clearly and accurately.
  • Solid communication skills and ability to work effectively with production and engineering teams.
  • Comfortable working in a hands‑on manufacturing environment with tight tolerances and fast turnaround expectations.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in aerospace or defense manufacturing environments.
  • Familiarity with AS9100/ISO 9001 quality systems.
  • Previous involvement with FAI, source inspection, or customer audits.
  • Experience with NCR/CAPA processes and electronic quality documentation systems.
