As a property damage repair technician (official job title: Construction Technician) at SERVPRO®, you will receive the best training the industry has to offer. You will progress through a series of industry certifications from the Institute of Inspection, Cleaning, and Restoration Certification (IICRC®). Opportunities for advancement to positions such as Crew Chief, Production Manager, and Estimator are available.
You will help restore people’s lives, businesses, and community infrastructure after disaster.
In this role you will engage in construction repairs to homes and businesses damaged by water, fire, mold, or sewage. This includes drywall replacement, prep, painting, and carpentry. Tools and equipment will be provided.
Responsibilities- Respond to service calls as needed.
- Perform property damage restoration services following SERVPRO® production guidelines.
- Communicate with the crew chief to ensure customer needs are met.
- Support the Crew Chief and other production personnel.
- Clean and maintain vehicles, equipment, warehouse, and office areas.
- Inventory and load the work vehicle with equipment, products, and supplies.
- Prepare rooms/areas for work activities.
- Set up staging area and equipment for each project.
- Leave the job site clean and orderly.
- Perform production processes following SERVPRO® production guidelines per work order and crew chief directions.
- Ensure clear two‑way communication with crew chief and technicians concerning customer needs and concerns.
- Perform end‑of‑day cleanup and breakdown.
- Understand and follow safety and risk management guidelines on the job site, in the office, and while traveling.
- Effective oral communication.
- Experience in cleaning/restoration desirable.
- High school diploma or GED.
- IICRC certifications desirable but not required.
- Ability to travel locally and out of state as necessary.
- Ability to successfully complete a background check subject to applicable laws.
- Valid driver’s license required.
Work Environment Requirements
- Ability to regularly lift 50 pounds and lift up to 100 pounds with assistance.
- Exposure to chemicals (with proper personal protective equipment).
- Walking and standing for long periods of time; driving, sitting, climbing.
- Ability to climb ladders and work at ceiling heights.
- Ability to work in tight spaces (e.g., crawl spaces under buildings).
- Repetitive pushing, pulling, lifting, carrying objects.
