Heavy Equipment Mechanic, Diesel Mechanic
Bring your diesel mechanical skills to Front Street Shipyard and work on boats of all sizes and models. We are seeking a skilled and motivated diesel engine mechanic who has hands‑on experience diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of diesel engines. You'll be working on and installing inboard and sterndrive engines, including new, state‑of‑the‑art equipment. This role requires strong technical knowledge, attention to detail, and a commitment to delivering high‑quality service to ensure the safety, performance, and reliability of customer vessels.
Key Responsibilities- Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and fuel system issues in marine engines and related systems.
- Perform routine maintenance, including oil changes, fuel system servicing, cooling system flushes, and tune‑ups.
- Install, troubleshoot, and maintain propulsion systems, steering systems, and related components.
- Conduct sea trials and performance tests to verify repairs and adjustments.
- Maintain accurate service records and communicate findings/recommendations to customers and supervisors.
- Stay up‑to‑date with manufacturer service bulletins, diagnostic tools, and repair techniques.
- Follow safety standards and environmental regulations for handling fuel, oil, and hazardous materials.
Marine‑specific experience is preferred, but we’ll train diesel mechanics from other sectors. This is a full‑time, year‑round, benefits‑eligible position. Please apply online or email your resume.
