Due to continued growth, they are seeking an experienced External Audit Senior Manager to join their leadership team and play a key role in shaping the future of the firm's audit function.
Your New Role This is a senior leadership opportunity for an experienced audit professional looking to take ownership of a growing audit portfolio while developing and mentoring a talented team.
Reporting directly to the Partners, you will lead audit engagements from planning through to completion, manage client relationships, drive technical excellence, and contribute to the strategic growth of the practice.

Key responsibilities include:

• Managing a portfolio of external audit clients across a variety of sectors.
• Leading audit engagements from planning, fieldwork, review, and completion stages.
• Reviewing statutory accounts prepared under UK GAAP and FRS 102.
• Acting as the primary point of contact for clients, providing commercial and technical advice.
• Managing, mentoring, and developing audit staff and managers.
• Ensuring audits are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest professional standards.
• Monitoring compliance with audit regulations, ISAs, and professional standards.
• Participating in practice management and strategic decision-making.
• Supporting business development activities and identifying opportunities to expand service offerings.
• Building and maintaining long-term relationships with clients, stakeholders, and professional advisors.
• Assisting Partners with practice growth initiatives and operational improvements.

What You'll Need to Succeed

• ACA or ACCA qualified.
• Significant external audit experience gained within an accountancy practice environment.
• Previous experience managing client portfolios and leading audit teams.
• Strong technical knowledge of UK audit standards and financial reporting frameworks.
• Experience working with SMEs, owner-managed businesses, and charity/not-for-profit clients.
• Excellent people management and leadership skills.
• Ability to build strong client relationships and develop new business opportunities.
• Strong communication and presentation skills.
• Commercial awareness and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
