About the Role

As an Assistant Accountant , youll play an important role within the finance team, supporting day-to-day accounting operations and contributing to accurate financial reporting. Youll gain exposure to accounts payable, month-end processes, financial records and multiple accounting systems, while working closely with colleagues and external suppliers.

Key Duties:

  • Assist with data entry and maintenance of financial records across various accounting platforms
  • Process accounts payable transactions, verifying invoices and ensuring timely payments
  • Support month-end closing activities, including account reconciliations and preparation of documentation
  • Manage and maintain accurate vendor records
  • Assist the finance team with financial reports and wider accounting activities
  • Maintain organised records to support audits and compliance requirements
  • Identify opportunities to improve accounting procedures, automation and efficiency

Skills & Experience Required

  • Previous experience within an accounting or finance environment
  • Knowledge of accounts payable processes and financial transactions
  • Experience using accounting software such as Sage, Xero, Quick Books, People Soft or Workday is highly desirable
  • Strong data entry skills with excellent attention to detail and accuracy
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Strong communication skills and confidence liaising with colleagues and external suppliers
  • Proactive approach to learning new systems and improving processes
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a collaborative finance team
