Part or Accountant - East

VANRATH are delighted to be working with a well-established accountancy practice in East Belfast who are looking to appoint an experienced Part-Qualified or Fully Qualified Accountant.

This is a flexible opportunity, with the role available on either a full-time or 3.5-day week basis
, with flexibility around working hours. The firm offers a friendly and established working environment, a varied client portfolio and the opportunity to take on greater responsibility over time.

You will work closely with the existing team, managing a varied portfolio of clients and delivering a range of accounts and general practice services.
The role would suit an accountant who enjoys the variety of practice and is looking for a long-term opportunity where they can build strong client relationships and become increasingly involved in the wider running and development of the practice.

• Preparation of accounts for sole traders, partnerships and limited companies
• Preparation and submission of VAT returns
• Preparation of personal and corporate tax computations and returns
• Management of a portfolio of clients
• Liaising directly with clients and handling day-to-day queries
• Assisting with year-end accounts and financial reporting
• Building and maintaining strong client relationships
• Supporting the wider team and junior staff where required
• Becoming increasingly involved in the development and day-to-day running of the practice

• Previous experience within an accountancy practice
• Part-Qualified or Fully Qualified Accountant
• Experience preparing accounts and tax returns
• Good knowledge of UK accounting and taxation
• Strong communication and client management skills
• Ability to work independently and manage deadlines
• Proactive and commercially minded approach
• Genuine interest in developing within a smaller practice environment
