We are seeking a detail-oriented Accounting Technician / Accounts Assistant to support our finance team. This role involves performing reconciliations, assisting with financial reporting, and ensuring timely and accurate records across all functions of the finance department. The successful candidate will report to the Senior Accountants and will have exposure to budget regulation and interim/year end audit.

The Role:

Assisting with the preparation of monthly management accounts for each Group company. Month end journal postings. Posting, reconciliation & review of bank account ledgers, cash clearing accounts and balance sheet ledgers. Being the business partner to the internal customers of the business, answering financial queries & becoming a trusted source of advice, supporting budget holders in achieving financial targets. Supporting accounts payable and accounts receivable functions as and when required Compliance on legal/regulatory compliance/returns in the UK & ROI.

E.g., VAT returns, government surveys, company filing

The Person :
Strong numeracy, accuracy, and attention to detail Experience in finance or accounting environment (e.g., bookkeeping, bank reconciliations, accounts payable/receivable) Proficiency with Excel (formulas, filters, pivot tables, lookups) Ability to manage multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and work under supervision Excellent people and communication skills ERP experience desirable Systems and automation implementation experience desirable The Mount Charles Group is an equal opportunities employer and welcomes applications from all sections of the community.
