Newly Qualified Accountant

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a newly qualified accountant to join a commercially focused finance team within an established business experiencing continued growth. The position offers a varied workload and the chance to work closely with senior members of the finance function, rather than being restricted to one area of accounting. This role provides an excellent platform to build commercial experience for someone making their first move from practice.

Responsibilities:
Producing monthly management accounts and supporting month-end close. Maintaining accurate balance sheet reconciliations and key control accounts. Managing accruals, prepayments, deferred income and revenue recognition. Supporting intercompany accounting and resolving discrepancies. Assisting with budgeting, forecasting and analysis of financial performance. Monitoring cash flow and completing regular bank reconciliations. Supporting payroll, expenses and year-end audit requirements. Preparing clear financial information for management and wider stakeholders.

Contributing to ad-hoc projects. Experience

Required:

Recently qualified ACA, ACCA or CIMA status. Strong Excel skills with good numerical and analytical ability. Excellent attention to detail and a well-organised approach. The confidence to take ownership of your work and manage competing priorities. A proactive mindset with a genuine interest in understanding the wider business. Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with colleagues across the organisation.
