Senior Accountant

Senior Accountant Full Time | Hybrid Working | York An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Senior Accountant to join a growing and forward-thinking accountancy and business advisory firm. Working as part of a collaborative Accounts & Business Advisory team, the successful candidate will manage a varied portfolio of clients, delivering high-quality accounting, compliance and advisory services while building strong, trusted client relationships.

Key Responsibilities:

Manage a portfolio of clients, acting as a key point of contact throughout the year. Prepare and review statutory accounts for sole traders, partnerships, limited companies and groups. Prepare management accounts and VAT returns for a range of clients. Support clients with accounting and tax compliance while ensuring work is delivered accurately and on time. Build strong client relationships and identify opportunities to add value through additional services.

Promote cloud accounting solutions and support clients with digital accounting processes. Work closely with managers on planning assignments, meeting deadlines and delivering excellent client service. Research and apply relevant accounting standards and legislation to provide practical solutions. About the Candidate: ACA, ACCA or ICAS qualified. At least three years' experience within an accountancy practice. Strong knowledge of UK GAAP, Companies Act requirements and FRS 102, FRS 102 1A and FRS 105.

Experience using accounting software such as Xero, Sage, Quick Books and Microsoft Excel. Excellent communication, organisational and analytical skills with a keen eye for detail. A proactive, client-focused approach and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively. What's on
