  • Preparing detailed aged creditor listings on a monthly basis, reconciling these to supplier statements and preparing payment runs
  • Assisting in the preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual management accounts
  • Processing monthly payroll accurately and by the set deadlines, including liaising with HR and staff on payroll-related queries, issuing required statements, completing monthly payroll folder reports and checks, and processing monthly payments to HM Revenue & Customs and any related liaison
  • Assisting in the preparation of funder returns and responding to funding queries
  • Tracking all lodgements, maintaining the funding debtor and monitoring all aspects of the accounts receivable function
  • Preparing lodgements of fundraising income
  • Assisting with the petty cash process, as needed
  • Assisting with the internal audit process, as needed
  • Preparing bank reconciliations and assisting with bank administration as needed
  • Undertaking on-site visits to project locations, as needed
  • Preparing ad hoc reports and responding to general financial queries, as requested

This list is not exhaustive; additional areas of responsibility may be added over time, and flexibility to cover other staff roles is required from time to time.

Person Requirements

Essential

  • Minimum of two years' experience in a busy accounts function, including hands-on payroll experience: payroll experience is essential for this role and applications without it cannot be considered.
  • Practical experience using Sage Accounts and Sage Payroll, or an equivalent payroll and accounting package
  • Proven ability to balance multiple tasks and consistently meet set deadlines
  • Highly accurate and detail-focused approach to work
