A3 - £25,407 - £28,503 per annum (under review) Hours of Work: 37.5 hours per week (Mon-Fri) Responsible to:

Safeguarding Lead, Safeguarding Department MAIN FUNCTION OF JOB To be an active member of the General Assemblys staff team, contributing to the effective administration of its functions. To provide administrative support to the Safeguarding Department staff team, and Safeguarding Development Committee in a manner in keeping with the Christian ethos of the Presbyterian Church in Ireland. About

The Role Responsibilities and Duties 1.To be a counter signatory with Access NI 2.To process Access NI applications and NVB Checks for the Presbyterian Church in Ireland, its associated bodies and organisations in line with safeguarding policies 3.To be responsible for the maintenance of the record management system for vetting record checks for the denomination
4.Liaise with Umbrella Groups in processing their Access NI applications and provide related advice
5.Keep up to date with changes to policies around Access NI and NVB and ensure these are communicated with line management
6.Manage outcomes from criminal record checks in line with the PCI safeguarding policy Training
7.Manage training requests across the domination
8.Liaise with volunteer trainers and congregational representatives to organise training sessions
9.Maintain central training database 10.Produce annual statistical information 11.Carry out administrative changes in programme resources, e.g. presentations, pocket guides and forms Onus  responsible for the administration of safe churches and maintenance of records management system for the same Administrative Tasks 13.To carry out all clerical duties, management of telephone calls and email communications. (Duties may include word processing, filing, photocopying, distribution of post, and organising meetings when required as part of the Safeguarding Department administration team)  part of a team that manages first contact for safeguarding queries and escalate appropriately.

Produce reports and statistics for various Committees, Panels, Director and Councils when required 16.Attend and participate in Safeguarding Department team meetings 17.Participate actively in own supervision 18.Support the Safeguarding Lead with administration tasks as they arise, and undertake any other duties of the post Required Criteria Minimum of 5 GCSEs (grades A-C) including English Language and Maths or equivalent qualifications OCR (RSA) Stage II Word Processing or equivalent in competence or qualifications Proficient in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint and Access One year experience of administrative work

Experience of creating and maintaining filing systems and databases

Experience of answering customer queries ideally in person, on the phone and via email/letters

Experience of dealing with sensitive/confidential matters and awareness of the importance of data protection To be able to commit to working within the Christian ethos of the Presbyterian Church in Ireland Desired Criteria A knowledge of Child and Adult Safeguarding issues, including awareness of Access NI or Garda vetting processes Experience in the administration of Access NI checks

Experience of invoicing and processing finance

Experience of organising meetings, booking rooms/venues and providing or organising hospitality for groups of varying sizes

Experience of diary management using Microsoft Outlook Skills Needed Salary £25,407.00 - £28,503.00 per year Benefits:
