Clerical Officer Ulster Hospital

First Choice are currently recruiting a clerical officer on behalf of the South Eastern Health and Social Care Trust, to work within the Appointments Office at the Ulster Hospital. This is a full-time temporary post, initially required for 3 months, with the possibility of extension. Working hours will be Monday - Friday 9am - 5pm. Pay rate: £12.75 per hour.

The successful candidate must be able to display excellent organisational and communication skills, and display a strong ability to work both independently and as part of a team. Main Duties:
Manage patient appointment scheduling, ensuring clinics are efficiently organised and waiting times minimised. Process appointment bookings, cancellations and rescheduling requests using hospital patient administration systems. Handle patient enquiries via telephone and face-to-face, providing clear, professional and compassionate support. Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records in line with NHS data protection and confidentiality requirements. Coordinate with clinical staff and departments to ensure appointment availability and smooth clinic operations.

Monitor appointment lists and waiting lists, ensuring priority cases were identified and managed appropriately.
