Summary:

This is a full time permanent post. If the postholder requires a Standard or Enhanced DBS disclosure the candidate is required to declare full details of everything on their criminal record unless the conviction/s and/or caution/s are considered “protected” in line with filtering rules for DBS checks. Children and Young People Service are recruiting a full time 37 hours Professional Practice Support Officer, at Grade 5 level.

Providing a flexible, high quality, efficient and responsive business support service, complying with procedures and practices to support the delivery of front-line services. There is an expectation that you will cover front of house at other sites city wide, front of house provides an effective customer focussed service to children, young people their families, carers and professionals. Post holder will be based at Lil Bilocca House.

The role includes managing the front of house staff team, assisting senior management on Health and Safety requirements, arranging meetings and panels, minute taking, financial transactions and monitoring and maintaining databases / data entry. You will also assist with meeting and greeting visitors for services within the SEND Hub, including Childrens Disability Team and Leisure and Family Support Service (LAFSS), along with partner organisations who access the SEND Hub, therefore resilience is required as you may deal with difficult situations with visitors face to face.

The post holder must have an NVQ level 3 or equivalent qualification, skills and experience of working in a busy demanding environment, good interpersonal and communication skills and proficient in the use of IT. The role can be emotionally demanding, you must be able to maintain confidentiality whilst working within GDP Regulations. Hybrid working arrangements are in place however you will be expected to work in the office due to the role being reception based.

ROLE AND PURPOSE Professional Practice Support is a new service brought together to underpin service delivery by providing effective customer focussed administrative support. This includes managing the front of house staff team, assisting group manager on Health and Safety requirements, financial transactions and monitoring, maintaining databases / data entry, acting as the link between customer access channels and the delivery of services through the scheduling of requests for service, elements of interaction with customers, stakeholders, partners and members, and other general administrative functions.

The post holder will provide effective, efficient and customer focussed support services to designated Service Teams ensuring compliance with procedures and practices to support the delivery efficient front line services. The post holder will also provide support to the Professional Group Leader as required.
