The RoleWe are looking for a high‑performing Sales Manager to liaise with our key accounts at head office, lead and motivate our team of Van Sales Personnel in Tyrone and Fermanagh, and expand our footprint across Ireland North and South. This is a critical leadership role within our bakery’s distribution network, where you will be responsible for driving daily sales growth, minimising wastage, ensuring operational efficiency, and maintaining our reputation for fresh, high‑quality products.
Key Responsibilities- Drive Revenue:
Meet and exceed sales targets by promoting our range of baked goods to wholesalers, retailers, and food service providers. - New Business Development:
Identify and secure new accounts. - Relationship Management:
Build long‑term partnerships with current clients through regular visits and strategic business reviews. - Market Strategy:
Analyse local competitor activity and industry trends to adapt sales tactics. - Team Leadership:
Recruit, train, and coach a team of Van Sales Drivers to meet and exceed weekly sales targets and KPIs. - Operational Management:
Oversee daily route planning, fleet maintenance schedules, and stock reconciliation to ensure maximum efficiency. - Compliance & Safety:
Ensure all personnel adhere to food safety regulations, vehicle health and safety standards, and DOT compliance. - Reporting:
Prepare accurate sales forecasts and maintain CRM records to track your pipeline and prepare regular reports for management.
- Experience:
At least 3–5 years of B2B sales experience, ideally within the bakery, FMCG, or food service sectors, as well as experience of managing a van sales team. - Sector Knowledge:
An understanding of bakery products, and retail within an FMCG environment is a huge advantage. - Leadership:
Proven ability to inspire a diverse team and handle the pressure of daily sales targets. - Commercial Acumen:
Strong understanding of profit margins, stock control, and route optimisation, along with proven negotiation, presentation, and analytical skills. - Licensing:
Must hold a full, clean UK Driving Licence. - Attributes:
Highly organised, resilient, self‑motivated, and a "leads‑by‑example" management style, with a strong desire to achieve results.
