Job Description As a Deputy Lead Nuclear Safety Management System Assurance, you will play a key role in the development, implementation and integration of Nuclear Safety Management Systems (NSMS) within a complex and highly regulated environment. Working closely with the Department Lead, you will drive programme delivery, coordinate cross-functional inputs and translate governance requirements into practical processes and frameworks.
This role offers the opportunity to influence the development of nuclear governance and assurance capability supporting Australia's defence programme. This role is based in Adelaide, suitably qualified candidates will be relocated. How youll make a difference:
Lead the operational delivery and implementation of Nuclear Safety Management System (NSMS) programmes and governance initiatives. Coordinate the development of policies, processes, procedures and governance artefacts across multiple business functions. Drive cross-functional engagement to ensure effective integration of NSMS requirements across the enterprise. Develop assurance methodologies, audit frameworks, compliance tools and performance monitoring mechanisms. Manage programme schedules, risks, issues and reporting to support successful delivery outcomes.
Support regulatory engagement, audit readiness and responses to compliance and assurance requirements. Provide leadership and guidance to project teams while promoting strong nuclear safety culture and governance practices. The qualities that help you thrive:
Degree qualification in Engineering, Science, Risk, Quality, Governance, Business Management or a related discipline. 1015 years' experience within nuclear, defence or other safety-critical and highly regulated industries. Demonstrated experience implementing management systems, governance frameworks or assurance programmes. Experience in audit, compliance, assurance or regulatory environments, including the development of policies and procedures. Strong understanding of nuclear safety principles and familiarity with IAEA, WANO, INPO, ISO 9001 and ISO 19443 frameworks.
Proven programme coordination, stakeholder management and process improvement experience within complex organisations. Chartered status, recognised SQEP capability or formal training in audit and assurance methodologies will be highly regarded. Additional Information Why youll love working with us:
