Location:
Whiteley & Hybrid working. Will be required to work in Whiteley 2-3 days per week. Travel may be required across local offices within the South.

Job Summary

We are looking for a talented, inquisitive, and commercially minded Bid Manager to join our thriving Facilities Management (FM) team. Working closely with and reporting into the Head of Business Support, you’ll play a key part in crafting winning proposals that help secure high-value contracts and capital projects across the public and private sectors.

You will take ownership of the entire bid process, from initial kick-off to final submission while also producing clear, engaging, and high-scoring content that reflects Corrigenda's capabilities, values, and client focus. Additionally, you will support the development and training of our Business Support Coordinators, equipping them with fundamental skills and best practices in bid writing.

Key Responsibilities Include (but not limited to):
Bid Management
  • Bid Planning & Lifecycle Management
    - Lead and enforce a structured bid management process, including kick-off meetings, reviews, sign-off, and lessons learned
  • Template and Process Ownership
    - Develop and maintain bid process documentation, standard operating procedures, and tools/templates to ensure a consistent and high-quality approach to submissions
  • Commercial Collaboration
    - Work with the Commercial and Estimating teams to align bid responses with pricing strategies, value-for-money narratives, and risk mitigation plans
  • Mobilisation Readiness
    - Collaborate with Operations and Mobilisation teams during bid development to ensure deliverability and transition planning are properly reflected
  • Bid Management Systems
    - Own and continuously improve digital platforms and systems used for bid tracking, document management, and analytics.
  • Innovation in Bidding
    - Lead the introduction of automation, AI, and other technologies to streamline bid processes and improve win rates
  • Collaboration & Communication
    - Liaise with stakeholders across departments to gather relevant content and insights
Bid Writing & Content Development
  • Produce high-quality, engaging, and technically sound written responses for PQQs, RFIs, ITTs, and other tender documentation
  • Lead the writing and submission of high-quality, successful bids and tenders tailored specifically to local authority and public sector opportunities.
  • Adapt and edit existing content to reflect the tone and expectations of each opportunity
  • Take technical, commercial, and operational information from various teams and transform it into cohesive, compelling bid submissions
Quality & Compliance
  • Ensure all documentation is accurate, well-structured, and aligns with the requirements of each tender
  • Maintain high standards of proofreading, document formatting, and internal governance compliance
  • Assist in developing and maintaining bid libraries, templates, and best-practice guides
Knowledge Management & Continuous Improvement
  • Collate feedback from past bids and incorporate lessons learned into future submissions
  • Create and maintain a bank of model answers, case studies, and evidence-based content
  • Develop and deliver training sessions for Business Support Coordinators on foundational tender writing skills, processes, and standards
Knowledge,

Experience and Skills:

Essential

  • Proven experience in bid writing within the Facilities Management or Construction sectors.
  • Strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills with an excellent command of English.
  • Proven success managing and writing winning bids for local authority and public sector clients.
  • Skilled in managing multiple deadlines in a high-pressure, deadline-driven environment.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • A collaborative, proactive approach to working with diverse teams.

Desirable

  • Knowledge of cost planning and FM mobilisation processes.
  • APMP certification or similar qualification
  • Proven experience writing successful bids and tenders specifically targeting local authority and public sector clients.
  • Familiarity with public sector procurement (PAS
    91, SQs, MEAT, etc.).
