Combined with the UK’s legally binding target for net zero carbon emissions by 2050, a significant increase in the amount of low-carbon electricity generation, as well as new technologies like hydrogen will be required, while building the associated infrastructure that will enable the system to function. The National Energy System Operator (NESO) has been commissioned to create a Strategic Spatial Energy Plan (SSEP) for the energy system, land and sea, across Great Britain (GB).
As PMO analyst, your role will be different every day. You will work ensure consistent high-quality outputs and the rigorous following of PMO process. You will be working directly to support the teams delivering the SSEP, acting as the first-port-of-call for the PMO needs of your assigned technical team. You will proactively support your team with the updating of key resources such as the Schedule, RAIDD log, and reporting requirements, and feed information back into the central PMO team.
You will be a strong communicator and leader with the ability to influence, manage, motivate, coach and develop individuals, with a passion to build a supporting community and network beyond the delivery activities. We have a number of roles in the team and are specifically looking for individuals who may have risk, assurance or data and information experience. This role can be based from Wokingham, Warwick, Glasgow, and we continue to offer hybrid working from office and home.
We are open to full time and part-time applicants, as well as flexible working. Please note that some travel to Wokingham may be required.
- Provide administrative and PMO support to assigned work streams, ensuring information is accurate, up to date, and aligned with programme processes.
- Support the maintenance and updating of workstream plans, schedules, and trackers, escalating issues where appropriate.
- Assist in the production of programme reports, dashboards, and status updates.
- Maintain programme documentation, records, and SharePoint sites in line with information management requirements.
- Support meetings by preparing materials, taking minutes, tracking actions and decisions, and maintaining relevant registers.
- Support the coordination of programme activities and help ensure adherence to governance and reporting requirements.
- Ensure programme records are maintained accurately and in accordance with governance processes.
- Assist with the coordination and documentation of lessons learned activities across the programme.
- Contribute to continuous improvement activities by identifying opportunities to improve PMO processes and ways of working.

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with a range of stakeholders.
- Experience using Microsoft Office applications, particularly SharePoint, Excel, PowerPoint, Word and Teams.
- An interest in programme, project management or PMO disciplines, with a willingness to learn and develop.
- Experience maintaining trackers, reports or project documentation would be beneficial.
- Willingness to support colleagues across the programme.
A competitive salary of £45000 - £50,000 dependent on experience and capability
