THE EMPLOYER IS: FALLS WOMEN'S CENTRETo work as part of a team maintaining a suitable stimulating and varied programme of activities for children and babies 0-4 yrs. which meet the physical, social, emotional and educational needs of the children availing of Falls Women’s Centre childcare services.
Responsibilities- To be aware of children’s needs and levels of development to ensure that each child gets the most out of the programme Services.
- Maintain the safety of the children and the childcare facility at all times, ensuring risk assessments are carried out.
- Take part in special events and outings when required.
- Establish and maintain a working relationship with the parents of the children using the childcare facility.
- Ensure Child protection policy is enforced.
- Be responsible for the care and maintenance of equipment ensuring it is safe and within the guidelines of the DHSSPS.
- Maintain high standard of hygiene within the overall childcare building.
- To assist in maintaining daily records of attendance and notes on children’s welfare.
- To assist the Childcare Manager with quality assurance.
- To assist with preparing the childcare rooms before each session and to ensure that it is left tidy and clean after each session.
- Keep strictly confidential any personal information regarding the children, their families or other staff which is learnt as part of the job.
- Undertake all necessary training.
- Qualification in Early Years Childcare and Education, CCLD, NVQ Level 2 or above.
- Demonstrable knowledge and 2 years’ experience of working within a childcare setting.
- Demonstrable knowledge of statutory legalisation in regards to children.
- Ability to work as part of a team.
- Flexible approach to working hours.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Experience of working within community development.
