Job DescriptionQuantity Surveyor, Northern Ireland. The role involves travel between sites in Northern Ireland and the office in Benburb.
As a Quantity Surveyor you will work as part of the commercial team to protect the best interests of the company at project and programme level. You will oversee the commercial activity on specific projects and programmes, reporting into the Commercial Manager. Your responsibilities include implementing and overseeing the monthly cycle of account application, cost reconciliation and earned value reporting, assessing risk and opportunity and monitoring the supply chain on an ongoing basis.

- Work as part of a team in the commercial oversight of multiple programmes and projects, embracing a “one team” culture.

- Work closely with all key stakeholders including clients, client representatives and third‑party agencies.
- Ensure values of integrity, collaboration, courage, agility and accountability are upheld.
- Develop and implement project‑specific commercial/contract strategies.
- Assist in cost build‑up and forecasting for projects.
- Support the delivery team in the appointment of key packages including final negotiations and supplier/sub‑contract agreements.
- Compile monthly payment applications and submit to the Client as per contract requirements, ensuring a healthy cash position.
- Provide cost backup and cost reconciliation for the payment process.
- Monitor and challenge change control with the project delivery teams.
- Assess monthly payment claims from sub‑contractors and process payment certificates.
- Agree on a final account and associated payment certificate at the end of their scope.
- Conduct monthly earned value reporting, ensuring an accurate view of cost accruals, working progress, cash‑flow position and costs to completion.
- Develop, negotiate and manage all commercial agreements/contracts to mitigate risks and optimise opportunities.
- Support project delivery teams in the commercial management of contractual issues arising during delivery.
- Be aware of changes in legislation, geopolitical issues or weather events that may affect delivery of contracts and support recovery if required.
