Heating Inspector

VANRATH are delighted to be partnering with a leading Public Sector organisation to recruit a Mechanical Inspector (Heating) to join their Project Delivery team in the South region. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Mechanical Inspector with strong heating compliance knowledge to work within a structured, professional environment delivering planned improvement programmes across residential housing stock.

The Role Working within a multidisciplinary in-house Project Delivery function, the successful candidate will provide inspection services across Natural Gas and Oil planned and response maintenance contracts. The role will ensure all installations, servicing, and maintenance works are completed in accordance with statutory regulations, contractual documentation, and required standards of workmanship.

Key Responsibilities
* Inspect works at various stages of construction and maintenance to ensure compliance with specifications and statutory regulations
* Monitor Natural Gas and Oil installations, servicing, and maintenance across planned and response contracts
* Identify and report any non-compliance, particularly urgent Health & Safety breaches
* Maintain a daily site diary and produce comprehensive electronic weekly reports
* Measure completed works as required by the Project Manager
* Keep Contract Administrators/Project Managers informed of variations or issues that may give rise to compensation events
* Support the works handover process and ensure accurate documentation is completed
* Record and manage information using mobile and desktop IT systems in line with organisational policies

Essential Criteria Applicants must meet one of the following qualification pathways:
* Degree (or equivalent) in a Technical/Construction related discipline plus 2 years' post-qualification experience in construction maintenance OR
* BTEC Higher Certificate/Diploma (or equivalent) in a Technical/Construction related discipline plus 3 years' post-qualification experience in construction maintenance OR
* Minimum 4 years' relevant experience in construction maintenance where formal qualifications are not held Mechanical Inspector (Heating) - Mandatory

Certifications:

* Gas Safe: CCN1, CENWAT
