The Role
Our client is seeking a motivated and commercially focused Quantity Surveyor to join their growing team. The successful candidate will play a key role in the commercial management of construction projects, ensuring effective cost control, accurate valuations, and strong supplier and subcontractor relationships throughout the project life-cycle.
Key Responsibilities
- Review construction drawings and specifications to identify labour, materials, plant and specialist subcontractor requirements.
- Prepare tender enquiries and obtain competitive quotations from suppliers and subcontractors.
- Negotiate costs, rates and terms with suppliers and subcontractors to ensure projects are delivered within budget.
- Prepare subcontractor valuations and manage accounts through to final account settlement.
- Produce and submit monthly valuations, including the assessment and recording of variations and additional works.
- Liaise directly with clients, consultants and project stakeholders to agree rates, variations and cost analyses.
- Measure completed works in accordance with contract schedules of rates.
- Prepare and submit interim valuations and final accounts within agreed timescales.
