The Role

Reporting to the Contracts Manager, you will take full responsibility for the day-to-day management of construction sites, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on programme, within budget and to the required specification.

You'll be the main point of contact on site, coordinating subcontractors, liaising with clients and consultants, and ensuring all works are completed to the highest standard.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage projects from site set-up through to practical completion and handover.
  • Develop and maintain short-term programmes to ensure works remain on schedule.
  • Coordinate subcontractors, direct labour, suppliers and plant.
  • Carry out daily site briefings and toolbox talks.
  • Ensure all RAMS are in place, understood and followed before works commence.
  • Monitor health, safety, environmental and quality standards across site.
  • Undertake regular site inspections and quality assurance checks.
  • Maintain accurate site diaries, progress reports and photographic records.
  • Chair and attend site progress meetings with clients, consultants and subcontractors.
  • Identify programme risks and implement solutions to minimise delays.
  • Manage site logistics, deliveries and material storage.
  • Ensure works are completed in accordance with drawings, specifications and building regulations.
  • Oversee snagging, commissioning and final handover.
  • Build positive relationships with clients and maintain excellent levels of customer satisfaction throughout the project.
Requirements

To be considered, you'll ideally have:

  • Previous experience as a Site Manager working for a principal contractor.
  • Experience delivering refurbishment, fit-out or new build construction projects.
  • Strong knowledge of construction sequencing and coordination of multiple trades.
  • SMSTS.
  • First Aid at Work.
  • Full UK Driving Licence.
  • Excellent organisational and communication skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
  • A proactive approach with the confidence to make decisions and solve problems on site.
  • Temporary Works Coordinator.
  • Fire Marshal training.
  • Experience working within live environments.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Project or similar programming software.
What's on Offer
  • Competitive salary based on experience.
  • Company vehicle or vehicle allowance.
  • Ongoing training and professional development.
  • Long-term career progression within a growing contractor.
  • A varied portfolio of projects across Scotland.
  • Supportive management team with a strong focus on quality and continuous improvement.
